Research Overview

Where you live can be as strong a predictor of whether you'll get screened for lung cancer as your own health history. This study set out to understand why; and to build a way to close that gap before it costs someone an early diagnosis.

Current Situation

Racial/ethnic minorities and lower-income patients face higher lung cancer risk but historically lower screening adherence. This study looks at individual and neighborhood-level factors to find out why.

Our Approach

A two-phase model: build and validate a predictive tool, then use it in real time to connect high-risk patients with support. See timeline below.

Main Goals of the Study

Timeline step visual
Complete

Phase 1 (Cohort C)

Use the model in real-time to predict which patients are at high-risk for non-adherence and administer patient navigator intervention to those at high-risk.

In Progress

Phase 2 (Cohort C)

Use the model in real-time to predict which patients are at high-risk for non-adherence and administer patient navigator intervention to those at high-risk.

Stage I; when it's most treatable."
